What is SEO and Why should I use it?

Many business owners find themselves asking, What is SEO? Why use SEO? and How can I improve my SEO?  Search Engine Optimization (SEO), helps companies improve their search engine rankings organically or in other words, without having to pay. The higher a company ranks on a search engine page, the better the visibility, traffic and conversion rate they get. It is essential that a business understand the importance and benefits of optimizing their website as it can improve their website ranking. There are many SEO Services and Free SEO tools available to companies to help them achieve this. Several popular search engine sites have made the best Free SEO tools available.  These free tools include, keyword research and web analytics.

SEO Tools

There are hundreds of thousands of websites from vast industries found on the internet today. This has increased the ability for companies to become more visible and at the same time, it has opened doors for more competition. Through proper use of SEO Tools, we have seen small businesses grow into large corporations and double their return on investments. Senior Executives of these businesses have attributed a majority of their success to SEO Tools and SEO ranking. Although successful, most if not all of these companies continue to utilize the free SEO tools available to them today. For the best organic search results they have suggested that companies use the following:

1- Google Analytics

Google Analytics is one of the most popular website analytics tools available. It is free, easy to use and easy to sign up for.  Using Google Analytics provides small businesses with valuable data such as website traffic, conversion rates, sales and performance activities, keyword trends, visitor demographics, and much more. It also gives the ability to review online campaigns and determine where changes need to be made.  With Google Analytics, companies can learn to understand how their customers think, search and buy their products. This is a must have free SEO tool.

2- Google Trends

Google Trends search helps companies discover unique keywords for the best SEO organic search results. As mentioned previously, this is what companies want to accomplish. Pure organic SEO marketing! This tool allows companies to view trending keywords, relevant keywords, and allows several keyword comparisons at one time. Google Trends also informs companies of what cities, regions and countries are searching these keywords. All this may sound intimidating, but fortunately Google Trends is an SEO beginners tool as it is easy to use and easy to understand. It does not require that you set up an account or provide personal information.

3- Google Adwords Keyword Planner

Google Adwords Keyword Planner provides additional information to the previous listed, Google Trends.  The keyword planner provides companies with related keyword search terms, volume estimates, trends, ad costs, competition, location, forecasts and much more. As long as you have a Google Adwords account, this tool is free and is a great addition to gaining insights for search results. This tool should be used along with all the other tools listed on this page.

4- Bing Webmaster Tools

Like Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools is a free service that provides companies with the ability to see their website through the eyes of a search engine. It provides internal and external linking data, crawling error notifications, trending search terms, website statistics, sitemap creation and much more. This tool should be used a long with Google Analytics as both search engine return data from their data sources. The more you research the better information you will be able to gather.

5 – Bing Keyword Research

Similar to Google Trends, Bing Keyword Research tool helps companies search trending terms. However, the benefit of using Bing’s Keyword Research tool is that it helps companies obtain organic keywords by suggesting additional keywords or phrases on the searched term. It also allows companies to enter its competitors URL’s to see what keywords are being used. This tool also provides companies with information on  monthly search volumes, click-through rate percentages, and average cost per clicks. Bing Keyword Research tool obtains its information from its search engine allowing for more diversity among popular search engines. This tool does require that you create an account and enter your credit card information in, but it is free and gives you the best of both worlds.

All of these Free SEO tools will help you optimize your website and increase your rankings organically. You will see the benefits from utilizing these tools almost immediately. Therefore, it is important that you learn about SEO and SEO Services.
